Best Gifts for TV Lovers

Our world has become all-digital and streaming, but a beautifully wrapped Blue-Ray collection sure looks better than a Netflix gift card. Let's take a look at some wonderful gifts for every occasion for every movie lover:

1. The New Normal, complete first season

Ryan Murphy and his gay parenting comedy might have been a bit before their time in 2013 and got cancelled. But watch it again and you will understand why it won People's Choice Award in 2013. Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha play a gay couple with a baby on the way, via a surrogate. The show might have been 'too gay' at the time, but you will enjoy timeless humor and great performances, including Matt Bomer, John Stamos, and Ellen Barkin.

2. Longmire, seasons one and two

This Wyoming-based mystery has been cancelled, but is still beloved. This Western is as modern as it gets without white guys playing Indians and John Wayne running round. Instead, Sheriff Walt Longmire, played by handsome Robert Taylor, is solving murders with Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips).

3. The Goldbergs, season one

Wendi McLendon-Covey is a funny mom and the center of this 80's-like comedy. Kids are OK, but the emphasis is solely on family interactions. The show includes behind-the-scenes recordings and set tours with costume and interior decision-making teams to learn more about the details that made the show so special. Now somebody needs to come out on the second season for a total perfection.

4. Deadbeat, season one

Deadbeat was on Hulu, it was starring Tyler Labine as Kevin, but despite his bear-like humility and great plot, never got the attention that it deserved. Kevin is a millennial with no money and not great work aspirations. He sees dead people and has to help them finish what they left unfinished. Given his lack of motivation, he helps them with the least amount of work involved. His co-stars Brandon T. Jackson and Lucy DeVito are like cherries on top of the pie.

5. The Blacklist, complete first season

If you love drama, mystery, and James Spader, this show is definitely for you. James plays Raymond 'Red' Reddington, who is a former government agent, turned fugitive. He eventually turns himself in and offers help to FBI with insider information about crime world lords, but he wants to work with Liz Keen, played by Megan Boone. Liz is a colorful character shrouded in mystery and adding to the appeal of the entire show.

6. Dynasty, the eight season

The prime-time soap opera has never lost its addicting appeal since the 1980s. The eighth season returns to see more drama, greed, and passion of oil tycoons the Carringtons. This iconic show about the rich family's life gave us Joan Collins, John Forsythe, and huge '80s hair.

7. Line of Duty, series 2

This show has been BBC 2 number one series for the last 10 years, and it's easy to see why. You have high intensity, nerve-racking, twisty and bumpy police thriller to deal with. Worst of all - the season's finale will leave you with a lot of questions and food for thought, which created some crazy fan theories and discussions online.

8. Borgen, the complete series

Stephen King loves this show, and it says something. This Denmark's drama has all the juicy happenings needed for addictive TV: politics, high stakes, and intense press coverage - kind of like our world right now. Birgitte Nyborg becomes the prime minister of Denmark quite unexpectedly and has to learn the way power works, and learn fast. You can watch drama in original language with English subtitles.

9. Mork & Mindy, the complete series

This show is best known for Robin Williams. The entire series are on DVD for the first time, including season 4, never before released for public. Fans will even have 2 series of Happy Days, which helped launch Mork's character.
